Performing Digital Simulation on Induction Machine in Both Motoring and Generating Mode of Operation - A Case Study
Simulation studies were conducted on an induction machine operating as both motor as well as generator using Runge Kutta fourth order method in MATLAB 2020 environment. With the integration of windfarms into grid., it has become compulsory to understand the dynamics of various types of wind generators out of which asynchronous machine was used to conduct the simulation studies. By applying different disturbances separately and also in concurrence., numerical solutions were generated for both motoring as well as generating mode of operation of squirrel cage induction machine. Results demonstrated that during starting of the machine in both motoring as well as in generating case., the initial values of different variables were very high. The initial oscillations of different variables were largely dictated by high frequency electrical circuit transients and after they die out., the low frequency mechanical transients were observed in the wave forms.
