Research on Compressed Air Energy Storage Operation Optimization Based on New Energy Consumption
Driven by the global energy transition and dual-carbon targets, increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix has become a priority in the energy sector. Given the intermittent and unstable nature of renewable energy, compressed air energy storage (CAES) technology, with its large-scale energy storage potential and environmental adaptability, has become the key to balancing the supply and demand of power grids. In response to the neglect of the dynamic changes of CAES efficiency in existing studies, this paper proposes a new operation model to accurately simulate the dynamic efficiency of CAES under non-rated operating conditions. Then this paper explores the characteristics of compressor, turbine and storage chamber under wide operating conditions and constructs the corresponding steady-state thermodynamic simulation model. Further, this paper constructs a scheduling model of the combined wind-storage system to investigate the operating characteristics and their effects on the system operating efficiency. The results show that considering the wide operating characteristics of AA-CAES is essential to optimize the economy and operational flexibility of the wind storage system.
