Non-linear thermal radiation effect on double diffusive mixed convective stagnation point flow of tangent hyperbolic nanofluid with suction/injection
Purpose The study aims to investigate the impact of injection/suction and non-linear thermal radiation (NLTR) on the double diffusive mixed convective stagnation point flow of tangent-hyperbolic nanofluid (THNF), incorporating the effects of heat absorption and generation. Design/methodology/approach To make analysis more efficient, the governing form of the model partial differential equations (PDE) is changed into ordinary differential eqquations (ODE’s) by appropriate transformations. Following this, the authors solved the transformed equations using the homotopy analysis method method using Mathematica software. This study investigates how by varying the values for suction/injection, Biot number and thermal radiation influence on concentration, temperature and velocity profiles. Moreover, the effects on local Sherwood number, skin friction and Nusselt number are included for various parameters involved in the study. Findings In this analysis, the velocity profile enhances while magnifying heat absorption/generation parameter when suction or injection or zero suction or zero injection is considered. While boosting thermal radiation parameter, thermal boundary layer found thickening. At A = 1.032, the skin friction coefficient remains constant as the injection/suction parameter increases. Research limitations/implications The limitation of the study is that the flow is laminar and steady. Practical implications These results have practical applications across diverse fields, including glass fiber, cooling of metallic sheets, paper production and food processing. The outcome of the research by using THNF can be applied in food processing industrial applications, biomedical treatments and analogy of spongy cartilage. Originality/value The research focus on examining the influence of injection/suction and NLTR on the double diffusive mixed convective stagnation point flow of THNF in the presence of heat generation and absorption and Biot number which is not yet experimented. This clearly shows the novelty of this work.
