A new night‐blooming species of Hoya (Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) from Borneo

In the present paper, we describe Hoya biruensis , a new species from Borneo, Indonesia, West Kalimantan. It is characterised by a shrubby epiphytic pendulous habit, linear leaves, exceptionally long green peduncles produced at almost every node, and single, night‐blooming flowers. We compare it to two morphologically similar species, H. spartioides and H. retrorsa , which are also endemic to Borneo.
