Can behavioural decision theory provide the microfoundations of project organizing?
• Behavioural Decision Theory cannot provide an adequate basis for theory in project organizing research. • This is because the underlying experimental research relies upon there being a known correct answer to the decision problem set. • Projects are inherently future-orientated and there can be no objective knowledge about the future because it has not happened yet. • We need to move to theory of project organizing founded in action rather than behaviour.
