Design of a Band-notched UWB Antenna for Wearable Applications
In this paper we proposed a new design of ultrawideband (UWB) antenna with band rejection characteristics. This antenna can be useful in wearable devices for medical applications. At first we designed a basic antenna for UWB application covering the frequency range $3.1-10.6 \mathbf{G H z}$. Then complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) has been employed to create band notch characteristics to prevent unwanted signals from the WLAN frequency range $(5.18-5.95 G H z)$. The proposed antenna is designed on FR4 substrate and the dimension is $40 \times 45 \mathrm{mm}^{2}$. We looked at the reflection coefficient (S11) and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) to observe the performance of the antenna.
