Research on the System Stability of Offshore Wind Power under Extreme Wind Environments
Extreme weather events such as typhoons can easily create extreme wind environments, which have a significant impact on offshore wind power station in Guangdong Province. This article takes the Mingyang Yangjiang Qingzhou IV Offshore Wind project (Yunhua Sea Wind Farm) in Guangdong Province as a measurement point and uses the 2018 CMA best-track data to conduct typhoon simulation. The research shows that as the typhoon continuously moves towards the measurement point, the fluctuation of the wind speed has a huge impact on the power output, power generation, safe operation of the wind turbines, and the stability of the transmission towers of the offshore wind power station. This is mainly manifested during the 93rd to 105th hours when the power output of the offshore wind power station drops to 0, the availability of the wind turbines decreases to 92.5%, and the wind pressure exceeds 0.405 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{KN}/\mathrm{m}^{2}$</tex>, threatening the stability of the transmission towers. Meanwhile, from June to November, the power generation of the offshore wind power station is most affected by typhoons, with a difference reaching 9412.1 MWh.
