Analysis on the Influence of the Line Impedance Angle of MMC-VSG on the Power Transmission Limit
With the rapid development of the new energy industry, the problems faced by high-proportion new energy transmission systems in terms of transmission capacity and stability have become increasingly severe. This paper analyzes the impact of the modular multilevel converter-based virtual synchronous generator (MMC-VSG) on it. Firstly, the topological structure of the MMC and the control strategy diagram of the VSG are introduced in detail. Secondly, it deeply analyzes how the power transmission limit of the VSG affects the transient power angle stability. Furthermore, through formula derivation, the inherent relationship between the line impedance angle and the power transmission limit is revealed. Finally, the corresponding simulation model is built with the help of MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results clearly show that reducing the line impedance angle can effectively improve the power output limit of the VSG and also expand the stable range of the output voltage. This finding is of crucial significance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of new energy transmission systems and improving their transmission capacity.
