An Optimization Strategy for Electric Vehicle Aggregators to Participate in the Energy and Ancillary Services Market
This paper proposes an optimization strategy for Electric Vehicle (EV) aggregators to participate in the energy and ancillary services market. By analyzing the scheduling potential of EV clusters and their ability to generate revenue through charge-discharge strategies, an optimization model is developed to minimize total costs while considering constraints such as scheduling capacity, charge-discharge power, and battery state of charge (SOC). The results demonstrate that EVs, as distributed energy storage units, can support grid stability by providing frequency regulation services and achieve economic benefits by charging during low-price periods and discharging during high-price periods. Regional differences, such as residential, workplace, and commercial areas, influence EV participation in grid services. This strategy effectively balances grid loads, maximizes economic benefits, and improves energy storage efficiency, showcasing EV aggregators' significant role in the modern power system.
