Electromagnetic-Thermal Analysis of a Reluctance Magnetic Gear
Thermal analysis plays a critical role in understanding the performance and reliability of reluctance magnetic gears (RMGs), particularly in assessing how temperature variations affect system efficiency. This paper presents an electromagnetic-thermal analysis of reluctance magnetic gears, with a focus on modeling the thermal behavior on RMG operation. The study begins by calculating the electromagnetic losses through the finite element method (FEM), which provides key data for subsequent thermal analysis. A thermal circuit model is then developed to represent the heat transfer paths across various components of the RMG. This model allows for a detailed analysis of temperature distribution and heat dissipation, offering valuable insights for improving the design, performance, and reliability of reluctance magnetic gears.
