Proliferative Myositis of Infratemporal Fossa in a Child: A Rare Entity and Literature Review
Proliferative myositis (PM) is a rare lesion in the head and neck region. It may mimic a malignant lesion. Therefore, it should be considered in differential diagnosis of swelling with pain and rapid growth. Here, the authors present the first case of proliferative myositis involving muscles of the infratemporal fossa in a 2-year-old child and a literature review of PM cases in the head and neck region.
