Enhancement of Power Measurements and Signal Detection Using Cross Wavelet De-Noising Technique

Radar and digital communication require the accurate measurement of RF power and signal detection. Rather than utilizing wavelet transform to reduce noise, a novel de-noising technique depending on a noisy signal's cross-Wavelet Transform (XWT) is given in the presented study before the detection and the power measurement processes. Based on an SNR of 8 dB, the effectiveness of power measurement with the use of the XWT de-noising approach as well as the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) de-noising approach is assessed. The mean power is within 1.015 for cross-wavelet de-noising and 1.028 for wavelet de-noising. Additionally, based on their PD values, the XWT de-noising approach and the DWT de-noising approach's signal detection performances are assessed. The detection findings reveal that MF-XWT performs noticeably better compared to the MF-WT detector, while the MF detector performs the worst given a 90% PD value and a false alarm probability of 0.01.
