Objects as means of communication: textological and functional parameters of decorative texts

This article analyzes decorative texts – texts applied to the surfaces of various objects of reality, which, alongside paper and digital media, constitute contemporary means of communication. The aim of the research is to substantiate the idea that decorative texts, placed on various objects of reality – items and elements of space – are an effective means of communication due to the peculiarities of their textological organization and functional capabilities. The scientific novelty lies in the study of decorative texts as a special linguistic phenomenon of the modern communicative space, in which the placement of text on the surface of an object becomes a productive way of mediated communication. The results demonstrate that decorative texts are short-form, precedent-setting, linguistically creative, and act as a pragmatically effective verbal attribute, allowing a linguistic personality to enter into a mediated dialogue with the external world, forming a certain image in the eyes of recipients. Decorative texts, as independent textual neologisms, perform various functions depending on the communicative purpose and extraverbal factors – the surface on which they are placed. Decorative texts are not only a visual-semantic decoration of objects of reality, but also a striking linguistic phenomenon of modern linguistic space.
