From solution ideation to operation: Transitioning geosciences into the Digital Era

Summary Today’s differentiation on oil and gas software and the digital market is no longer only obtained through scientific breakthroughs. The added value is often associated with the user experience, support, and the services that are offered on top of the solutions. Often associated to a 70% failure rate, digital transformation is a major step and can be seen to be a jump into the unknown facing various challenges. To address these challenges, a standardized agile transformation and transition framework has been developed. This framework adopts a holistic and human-centered approach to innovation, integrating the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success. This abstract presents the methodology used to ensure a successful digital transition path from on-prem to the cloud.
