Development of olympic fitness gym management system with integrated QR Code technology

There is a growing trend of people who join fitness clubs to improve their health and physical appearance. Olympics Fitness Gym is one of the well-known gyms in Tacloban City. Despite being famous, it still uses manual monitoring and data management schemes in running the fitness club. The proposed QR Code Technology thus seeks to automate the manual process of recording sales, generating reports, monitoring the attendance and subscriptions of the customers by increasing its efficiency and effectiveness. The research model used is a descriptive method that includes interviews, observation, and questionnaires. The key informants of the study include the owner (1) along with two staff/ cashiers working in the gym (n = 3). The study found that the existing manual system lacks efficiency and it is time-consuming in terms of (1) Customers Attendance and Subscription Monitoring, (2) Data and Backup Security, and (3) Records. The researchers integrated a new QR Code technology to improve the attendance and membership subscription monitoring features to bridge these practical gaps. As a result of the study, the researchers suggest automating the manual process and creating a management system with integrated QR-Based technology to increase its efficiency in attendance and sales monitoring as well as in data management (i.e., recording and storage).
