Developing master version of the State Rubricator of Scientific and Technical Information: Subject classes 37 Geophysiccs, 38 Geology, and 39 Geography

The authors introduce the findings of the research project to develop and update the subject contents and structural organization of Classes 37 Geophysics, 38 Geology, and 39 Geography of the SRSTI-2022 amended in 2023. The purpose is to prepare proposals for the SRSTI master version 2025. Within the geophysical sciences, the authors suggest to introduce 14 new subject headings and to change the names of 5 headings. Within the geological sciences, they suggest to introduce 45 new subject headings and to change14 names. For geographical sciences, 2 new subject headings are proposed to be introduced with 2 changes of names. To develop the polyhierarchical links between the SRSTI subject headings, 10 “see also”, 30 “see”, 4 “eq.”, 30 “ref. from” links have to be added. With the proposed changes, the corresponding fragments of updated SRSTI Classification Table are constructed. The paper is prepared within the framework of the Government Order to RNPLS&T for 2025 No. 075-00548-25-00, Project No. 720000F.99.1.BN60AA03000, theme No. 1024052200005-7-1.2.1;5.8.2 (FNEG-2025-0008).
