Automatic control system for non-closing of the CCM tundish stopper based on fuzzy logic

To ensure trouble-free operation of the CCM tundish stopper device, a prototype of the automatic system for early prediction of an abnormal situation of the “Non-closing stopper” type has been developed. The control system is based on the fuzzy logical inference of the Mamdani type, which allows for real-time monitoring of the occurrence, development and prevention of abnormal situations in the process of continuous casting of steel, arising due to the uncontrolled flow of metal into the mold, which ultimately leads to overflow of the tundish and to metal overflow. Testing of the mathematical model on the control database corresponding to the real conditions of operation and work of the continuous casting machine showed more than 90% of the coincidence of the actual and predicted assessments of the situation. The work was carried out with financial support from the federal budget on the topic “Expert system for ensuring the reliability of metallurgical equipment taking into account the psychophysiological state of the operator in real time” (topic code: FRRU-2023-0005 in EGISU R&D).
