REDUCING COSTS AND CO2 EMISSIONS IN OILWELL DRILLING: METHODOLOGY AND CASE STUDY
Greenhouse gases are unavoidable in oilwell drilling, being necessary to generate all the electricity locally due to the impossibility of taking cables to remote areas. The article uses a published methodology to identify factors of greater efficiency in the drilling process, demonstrating that it is possible to measure the financial impact and the mass of CO2 emissions saved by adopting optimization processes. The benefits for the society are achieving lower operational costs in the energy matrix, and reducing GHG emissions to the environment.
