Research on mix proportion design and carbon emission reduction of auxiliary components of multi-source solid waste traffic engineering

Abstract Traffic engineering is usually huge and requires a lot of construction resources. The use of solid waste materials instead of traditional building materials can effectively reduce resource consumption. Based on the engineering example of Jishang Expressway (Jiaxiang to Jinxiang section), this paper carried out the research on the mix ratio design and carbon emission reduction of the auxiliary components of multi-source solid waste traffic engineering. Through the compressive strength test, freeze-thaw cycle test, and life cycle assessment method, the road performance and carbon emission accounting of multi-source solid waste materials were studied. The following conclusions are obtained: The incorporation of solid waste materials will lead to a decrease in the compressive strength of the mixture, and the effect of fly ash and coal gangue is more significant; The addition of coal gangue will greatly reduce the frost resistance of the mixture. When the content is 50%, the strength loss rate can reach 20 %; Based on the comprehensive performance indicators, the replacement rates of fly ash, coal gangue, and blast furnace slag were finally determined to be 10 %, 25%, and 50%, respectively; The carbon emission reduction effect is positively correlated with the mixing ratio of solid waste materials. The test section uses multi-source solid waste materials to make traffic auxiliary components, which reduces CO 2 emissions by 5593.14 t, and the carbon emission reduction effect is remarkable.
