An optimization control method of a wide voltage range converter for bidirectional charging piles
Abstract To solve the problems of high transformer current stress and narrow working range of the conventional AC/DC bidirectional converters, this paper presents a single-stage converter for vehicles’ bidirectional charging. An isolated bidirectional AC/DC converter topology and the corresponding control strategy are proposed. A T-type bridge is used to extend the input DC voltage range, meanwhile, by optimizing the control variables, a high voltage matching is achieved, thus reducing the current stress. Moreover, the proposed converter has the ability of flexible power transmission and can operate reliably in (vehicle-to-grid) V2G, (grid-to-vehicle) G2V, and (high-voltage-to-low-voltage) H2L modes. The proposed converter model is built in PLECS, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
