Optimization research based on the BOG recondensation process
Abstract A new pre-cooling two-stage compression BOG re-condensation process is proposed to address the issues of high energy consumption in the re-condensation process. The new process adds a pre-cooling heat exchanger at the outlet of the first-stage compressor, using the cooling energy of LNG to pre-cool and heat the BOG at its outlet, thereby reducing the BOG temperature and the process material ratio and adopting two-stage compression to reduce energy consumption. Research using HYSYS simulation software has shown that the new process reduces energy consumption and material ratio and enhances process stability. Moreover, it has better energy-saving effects when BOG production and compressor energy consumption are high, providing a reference for further optimization of recondensation technology.
