Systematic review on perimeter security in the detection of centralization vulnerabilities in SDN networks
The purpose of this systematic review is to evaluate the impact of perimeter security on the detection of vulnerabilities in SDN networks. Using the PICO tool to formulate the questions that guide this qualitative work. The study explored the security strategies implemented, comparing protected and unsecured networks. The PRISMA protocol guided the rigorous selection of relevant and high-quality articles, obtaining 50 articles directly related to perimeter security and vulnerabilities in SDN networks. The results revealed that strategies such as network segmentation, advanced firewalls, access control, and real-time monitoring significantly improve control plane protection in SDN networks. The implementation of IDS/IDPS systems optimized the detection and response to threats, increasing the resilience of the network. It is concluded that perimeter security is essential to mitigate vulnerabilities in SDN networks. However, areas of opportunity were identified to delve deeper into the distribution of control and challenges in dynamic environments. It is suggested that research be carried out on the integration of emerging technologies with SDN networks to optimize the detection of cyber threats.
