Design, Monitor and Controll a System for Smart Substation Grid Using Cloud Computing

Over time, power grids have evolved from standalone structures to interconnected networks that produce, transfer, distribute, and supply electrical energy to end users. For instance, smart power plants play a crucial role in smart grids by supplying consumers with safe, efficient, and dependable electrical energy distribution through switching, conversion, monitoring, measuring, and protection functions. Smart power plants that are digital and have better connectivity are the latest evolution in power grid technology, which has been closely followed by the digitization of all its components and advancements in communication and computer infrastructure. However, mishaps involving linked smart power plants can cause power outages and problems to propagate across the grid, damaging electrical equipment in other parts of the country. Our goal in this study is to develop a cloud-based system for smart substation monitoring and control over the Internet. Through remote monitoring via the cloud, this system is able to identify problems that could cause the electrical system to shut down. In addition, the system's design cost is minimal, and its data storage capacity is exceptionally large. This setup sends data from smart grid devices to the cloud for management and monitoring using an ESP 32 microcontroller and high-precision sensors.
