Performance Analysis of Optical Communication System Based on Ultra-high Capacity WDM-SDM Techniques
Optical communication system has become a developed and widely used technology due to the increasing demand for high bandwidth which provides high speeds and data transmission capacity. This research presents a design for a space division multiplexing (SDM) transmission system based on few-mode fiber. In this paper, four modes are used to obtain ultra-high data rates. This system similarly utilizes wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) techniques to increment the data transmission rate of the system. The design of the WDM/SDM system was simulated, and the analysis of transmission parameters was done using OptiSystem 18 software. We tested the proposed system in different cases. The system performance is evaluated and analyzed through various parameters: the worth of the quality factor, the bit error rate analyzer, and the amplitude of the eye diagram’s opening. Where obtained the best quality factor of 59.1721 at a data rate of 109 b/s and a fiber length of 10 km.
