Increasing Voltage Profile and Reducing Power Loss in Transmission Line Under a Network Reconfiguration Approach
Blackout transmission line happen for a variety of reasons, including harsh weather, human mistake and mechanical failure. While it is hard to avoid all such situations, utility authorities and contractors can be prepared to handle them. A network reconfiguration is a critical phase in the restoration of a power system following a total blackout or localized outage. The network reconfiguration problem is frequently used to improve a network’s operating characteristics, which are measured using metrics like power loss (PL) summation and voltage deviation. Then, the network reconfiguration approach is employed to increase the profile voltage (VP) and reduce PL. The aim of this research is to develop a network reconfiguration method to increase VP and reducing PL due to outage of transmission line. In this research, there are two kinds of cases have been discussed, such as: outage transmission line in Wolo-Kolaka (case-1) and Unaha-Kolaka (Case-2). According to research findings, it was found that the VP can be increased from 130.223 kV to be 153.928 kV during 19.922 s and the PL can be reduced from 41.85 MW to be 41.44 MW; the VP can be increased from 140.646 kV to be 151.408 kV during 19.952 s and PL can be reduced from 41.85 MW to be 41.48 MW, for case-1 and 2, respectively.
