IoT and Sensor-Enabled Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Machinery: Analysis of the Manufacturing Sector
The sector area is free to move toward utilizing the Internet of Things and sensor-enabled predictive maintenance; these days, this has changed into a preached scenario. This is a sophisticated, sensor-based predictive maintenance system with sensors and data analytics to monitor the health of industrial machines at production plants and predict their failure so that companies can cut downtime due to machine failures. Real-time Monitoring of Equipment: IoT is enabled with sensors that predict maintenance operations and help to understand the functioning status in real-time for any nature or size of equipment, from a small/massive engine to a storage tank tailored to wind turbines. By doing this, they can identify any issues or unusual behaviors before they develop into more serious and expensive problems, allowing them to schedule maintenance activities. Moreover, this allows for the sensor data to be reviewed and correlated to see patterns and trends on when equipment might break down so that a pre-emptive maintenance action could have been done instead. This technology will be extremely useful for the manufacturing sector, where equipment failure results in high costs and losses due to production downtime.
