Identification of Soil Physical Status for Shallot Plants Based on the Mixture of Experts Method
This research introduces the Mixture of Experts (MoE) method, termed MoE-Soil, for identifying optimal physical soil conditions to enhance the cultivation of shallots (Allium cepa var. aggregatum). The study focuses on addressing soil challenges such as high acidity and low fertility in ultisol soils. MoE-Soil leverages soil temperature and soil moisture data to predict soil conditions with high accuracy. The model demonstrated an impressive overall accuracy of 94%, with AUC values of 1.00 for critical classifications. Validation against recent methodologies confirmed its efficacy. Data augmentation through Gaussian noise injection contributed to robust generalization and enhanced precision farming practices. The findings provide practical tools for farmers, enabling data-driven soil management and improved cultivation outcomes.
