Automatic mobile testing state monitoring for a Setup Usage Report Generator (SURGE) on Advanced Telecommunications Laboratory

The fast growth of mobile networks and 5G deployment in the last years engendered the expansion of telecommunication laboratories by new testing equipment acquisition. Due to the high investment, there is a need for monitoring these equipment’s use. This paper introduces a software tool, client-server based for telecommunication testing equipment use monitoring and report generator. The software tool developed is called ’Setup Usage Report Generator’ (SURGE). This tool reduced the checking equipment use time and allowed generating reports with metrics for greater control over equipment use and hence, the return on investment made for a specific equipment. Previously, the information from the use of the 20 equipment in the laboratory were obtained in around 8 hours, after the SURGE this time was incredibly reduced to 20 seconds.
