Image Steganography via Edge-based Fuzzy with Histogram Shifting
Digital Digital image steganography, a technique for embedding confidential data (payload) within multimedia files such as images, audio, and video, has garnered significant attention for safeguarding sensitive information. However, as the payload size increases, challenges arise in maintaining the media's perceptual quality. While numerous studies have attempted to address this issue, further refinement of existing methods is needed for more effective solutions. This paper presents a new image steganography approach that embeds confidential data bits using edge-based fuzzy logic with histogram shifting. The proposed method provides a robust and efficient solution for secure data hiding and retrieval in digital images, minimizing distortion while enhancing the resilience of the steganographic process. Experimental results demonstrate promising performance, with a peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) ranging from 59.98 to 72.40 decibels (dB). Compared to existing methods, the proposed technique achieves superior results in PSNR and Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM), reaching 1, an ideal value.
