Intraclass Correlation Coefficient: Application For Validation of Health Information Security and Privacy Awareness Scale

Information security is of paramount importance as it aims to ensure and guarantee the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of information management. Several frameworks have been developed to measure Information Security Behavior (ISB). However, there is no measurement scale specifically considering security threats in healthcare context that has statistically validated. This study aims to conduct reliability and validity testing for the Health Information Security and Privacy Awareness Scale developed in previous research. The sample are 218 Indonesian healthcare professionals. The one-sample T-test analysis yielded a mean difference of 0.871 with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 0.842 to 0.897. A comparison of the mean difference between ISB variables that consists of the Device Protection, Password Management, Proactive Awareness, and Information Handling are conducted and 95% confidence interval was obtained. The result of one-sample T-test analysis for all variables are above 0.8 which means that all variables are valid and in good criteria. The results of the analysis show that all indicators on the Health Information Security and Privacy Awareness Scale have been tested as valid and reliable so they can be used to measure ISB of healthcare professionals.
