Enhancing Mobile Wallet Usability through Developer Guidelines: Addressing Challenges in the Sri Lankan Market
The Sri Lankan market has witnessed a growing reliance on mobile wallets for financial transactions, driven by increased smartphone penetration and government initiatives promoting digital payments. However, usability challenges, including complex interfaces, security concerns, and a lack of localization, hinder widespread adoption. This research investigates these challenges through a comprehensive analysis of user feedback, identifying critical areas for improvement. Negative user experiences, particularly regarding navigation, security, and digital literacy barriers, are mapped using sentiment analysis and thematic coding. The findings emphasize the need for intuitive UI designs, enhanced security measures, and localization strategies, including support for Sinhala and Tamil. Developer guidelines are proposed to address these challenges, offering practical solutions to improve usability, security, and user trust in mobile wallets. This research’s novelty lies in its focused approach to Sri Lanka’s unique challenges, providing a tailored framework to enhance mobile wallet adoption and digital financial inclusion in the country.
