Wideband Antenna Design for Radio Frequency Energy Harvesting Application in a Wireless Sensor
A Wideband dipole antenna for radio frequency energy harvesting (RFEH) applications is proposed in this paper. This antenna is designed to harvest ambient RF power of universal mobile telecommunication services GSM-1800, UMTS-2100, and LTE-2300 bands efficiently. The proposed microstrip planar dipole antenna are using 4 planar taper-shaped to achieved a wideband frequencies 1.6 GHz to 2.7 GHz and maintain the radiation pattern to be omnidirectional to harvest the frequency power from many directions. Simulation results shows that the antenna design has a gain of 2 to 3 dBi respectively at all resonant frequencies while maintaining the omnidirectional radiation pattern.
