Digital modeling of an oil treatment plant in the RTSIM engineering environment
Modeling of technological processes and installations in the petrochemical sector is a crucial task that helps verify the correctness of design decisions and identify potential problems at the design stage. In this industry, which is prone to explosions and fires and uses expensive raw materials and products, every change requires special attention, modeling, and subsequent implementation in industrial facilities. One of the key elements in the oil industry is the oil treatment plant. It is responsible for removing impurities from oil, which facilitates its transportation, processing, and reduces additional costs for equipment maintenance and waste disposal. The oil treatment plant consists of units for dewatering, desalination, purification from mechanical impurities, and stabilization, which bring the oil to the standards required. This helps prevent corrosion of pipelines, tanks, and equipment, the formation of hydrates, and blockages. Digital modeling of an oil treatment plant in the RTSIM platform solves the problem of analyzing and optimizing various process parameters to achieve maximum productivity and target product output at minimal cost. The advantage of this method is that it simplifies the study of complex processes that are difficult to investigate experimentally
