Development of digital models of the casting process for the manufacture of complex-face castings

The article presents the results of research aimed at developing digital models of the casting process for the manufacture of composite castings used in the aerospace industry. At the first stage, a digital twin of the existing casting process was created, including the design of the gate-feeding system (LPS), which made it possible to confirm the presence of defects identified in real smelts. Based on the analysis of the simulation results, changes in the LPS design and technological modes were proposed, which led to a significant reduction in shrinkage porosity and other defects. The developed digital models make it possible to optimize the casting process, reduce the volume of full-scale experimental smelts and reduce the proportion of foundry defects. The article also provides methodological recommendations for optimizing the technological modes and designs of LPS, which can be successfully implemented in the production processes of enterprises in the aerospace industry.
