DESENVOLVIMENTO MOTOR DE CRIANÇAS ENTRE 0 E 12 MESES: UM ESTUDO DESCRITIVO
The aim of this study was to describe, in a chronological manner, the stages of typical motor development in children aged 0 to 12 months. To achieve this, information available in the scientific literature was analyzed, with the goal of providing a comprehensive and detailed overview of the topic. The methodology adopted was a descriptive study based on the analysis of scientific publications from recent decades, selected from different databases such. Studies on typical motor development were included, while research related to atypical conditions was excluded. Data were analyzed descriptively and organized into chronological categories. The results indicated that motor development during the first two years follows a predictable sequence. In the first year, children progress from primitive reflexes to skills such as rolling, sitting, and crawling. In the second year, there is a transition to an upright position, culminating in the acquisition of walking and the refinement of manipulative skills. It is concluded that full motor development depends on the interaction between biological and environmental factors. Stimulating parenting practices and enriched environments play a crucial role in this process. This study contributes to the understanding of infant motor development and provides important support for interventions and professional practices aimed at promoting healthy development.
