An efficient numerical scheme for reconstruction of vibration loads based on a dynamic transfer matrix method

In this paper, a fast inversion scheme for reconstruction of the constraint stiffness and vibration loads of pipeline structures was proposed based on a dynamic transfer matrix method. The inversion scheme involved a constraint stiffness strategy in term of the constraint forces, a fast finite element method (FEM) numerical simulation method of harmonic vibration responses based on the dynamic transfer matrices of the pipeline, and an inverse algorithm to recover the unknown dynamic loads from measured vibration information at limited measuring points. Pipeline static deformation and forced vibration experiments were conducted to validate the numerical model and the proposed inversion scheme. Based on the simulated and measured deformation and vibration signals, the efficiency of the proposed method was demonstrated in regard to the reconstruction of the vibration loads from vibration signals at limited measuring points for a real pipeline structure.
