Analysis of The Influence of Grid Characteristics of Low Voltage Circuit Breaker on Arc Extinguishing Process
The characteristics of grid plates in low-voltage circuit breakers have significant implications for the evolution of the arc. Based on magnetohydrodynamics theory, a dynamic model of arc plasma is established using the COMSOL Multiphysics coupling platform to reveal the evolution patterns of the arc and analyze the mechanisms by which grid plate characteristics affect arc extinguishing under different conditions. The findings indicate that an increase in the effective length of the grid plates leads to a faster rate of change in arc pressure and a noticeable reduction in extinguishing time, with the number of grid plates significantly impacting the spatiotemporal behavior of the arc. Studying the characteristics of grid plates can provide a detailed scientific basis and reference for optimizing grid plate designs in circuit breakers.
