Low Power Consumption Analysis of Communication Protocol for the Meteorological Internet of Things
Every device that is connected to the Internet establishes connections on the Internet of Things (IoT) network. Instead of using the same communication methods as the Internet, the IoT uses alternative ones. Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is a lightweight and low-power consumption protocol used by Internet of Things (IoT) applications. This article describes an Internet of Things (IoT) system that is a sophisticated way to measure low power consumption at different time intervals and monitor meteorological data such as temperature, humidity, and pressure at various locations in a data center using the MQTT Server. The data is then made available online through a cloud-based dashboard. In some applications, data collection is critical, making the quality of service (QoS) extremely important. This study focuses on quality of service (QoS) in terms of power usage and system battery life. The findings demonstrate that QoS and battery endurance are correlated and that IoT network life depends on both.
