Lightweight Identity Authentication Algorithm for Electric Energy Measurement Terminals Based on Device Fingerprints and Timestamps

Due to the limitation of hardware resources, handheld detection devices face challenges such as limited computing power, restricted storage space and restricted operating environment, which make the authentication vulnerable to security threats and may lead to forgery or fraudulent use of terminal identity. To address the above issues, this paper proposes an anti-forgery identity authentication method based on device fingerprints and timestamps. First, a device-specific fingerprint with high anti-forgery performance is extracted using authentication technology. Then, the uniqueness of event occurrences is guaranteed by the non-counterfeitability of device fingerprints and timestamps, reducing the possibility of deception and impersonation. Finally, the device identity, fingerprint, and timestamp are integrated to design an authentication mechanism that prevents forgery, thus realizing a “one-time pad” encryption scheme in the key verification process. It was demonstrated through experimental results that the proposed method is effective in resisting man-in-the-middle attacks and enhancing forgery prevention.
