Temperature Distribution Measurement and Simulation of Transmission Line Arrester Under Impulse Voltage
Arrester is an important protection device for transmission lines. Due to the complex weather conditions and harsh operating environment, line arrester failures occur from time to time, affecting the normal operation of the power system. In this paper, a fluorescence optical fiber temperature measurement system for line arresters is built. The temperature changes of zinc oxide valve plates at different positions under two operating conditions of continuous operating voltage and switching impulse overvoltage are studied. The finite element simulation model of line arrester is established, and the electro-thermal coupling simulation of arrester is carried out. The calculation results are in good agreement with the test results. The valve plate defects are set in the simulation model, and the influence of defect position and defect number on the temperature distribution characteristics of arrester is studied.
