Exploring the Potential of Vertical Axis Wind Turbines in Highway Median Strips: Morocco Case Study
Innovative technologies are being investigated to enhance the contribution of wind energy in highway environments. Among these technologies, Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWTs) are increasingly recognized as effective means to enhance clean energy production, especially in highway settings, highlighting a shift towards more eco-friendly power solutions. This paper specifically contributes to the field by identifying and optimizing the parameters crucial for effective VAWT deployment in highway environments., focusing on material selection, aerodynamic efficiency, and integration feasibility. The proposed approach is validated through a combination of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and experimental prototypes tested in a controlled environment. Furthermore, this research examines the potential of deploying small-scale VAWTs along highways in Morocco, aiming to determine the optimal parameters for their deployment. The findings provide valuable insights into renewable energy strategies within transportation infrastructure, contributing to the broader goal of sustainable development.
