Research on Overheating Identification Technology for Substation Equipment Area Based on Infrared and Visible Light Fusion
The overheating problem of substation equipment is one of the main factors leading to equipment failure and power interruption. Traditional overheating detection methods have shortcomings such as slow response and limited monitoring range, which cannot meet the high requirements of modern substations for safety monitoring. To address this issue, this paper proposes a substation equipment area overheating recognition technology based on infrared and visible light image fusion. This method combines infrared thermal imaging and visible light imaging, using infrared images to capture device temperature distribution information, supplemented by visible light images of device appearance features, to comprehensively improve the recognition accuracy of overheated areas. Specifically, this article proposes a fault equipment image segmentation method based on mapping the centroid of the heating area to visible light images. By accurately matching the position of the heat source with the visible light image, the localization and segmentation process of the overheated area is optimized. At the same time, image preprocessing techniques including noise removal and contrast enhancement were studied for infrared thermal images of transformers, significantly improving image quality and analysis accuracy. The experimental results show that the overheating recognition technology based on image fusion has high accuracy and real-time performance, which can effectively improve the reliability of substation equipment monitoring and provide strong support for early warning and fault diagnosis of equipment overheating problems.
