Implementation of Augmented Reality For Performance Learning Media Elementary School: Usability Approach

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) in educational settings has the potential to greatly enhance learning experiences, particularly for elementary school language learning. This study aims to address the challenges faced in traditional English language instruction, such as the lack of interactivity and student engagement, by utilizing AR as a learning tool. The main goal of this research is to assess the usability of AR applications for elementary students using a heuristic approach. The research method includes a literature review, user-centered design (empathy maps), and iterative prototyping based on identified user needs. The usability evaluation was carried out using a modified RSM design approach combined with heuristic principles, focusing on factors such as learnability, user control, and interface consistency. The results demonstrate that the AR application significantly improves student motivation and comprehension by providing an engaging and interactive learning environment. The study also emphasizes the significance of user-friendly designs tailored to young learners, emphasizing visually appealing content and ease of navigation. Despite these positive outcomes, there are still some challenges to overcome, including ensuring user control and privacy, which require further refinement. In conclusion, this research finds that $A R$, when designed with usability in mind, is an effective tool for enhancing English language learning in elementary schools. Future studies are recommended to explore personalized AR experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and individual needs. The results obtained from the implementation of the AR application show that the highest level of consistency and standards is 4.22, with an average of $84.4 \%$ positive responses from users.
