Magnetic Field Design of Stewart Platform Legs Driven by Magnetostriction
Micro-vibrations typically refer to vibrations or disturbances at the micron or sub-micron level, with frequencies concentrated in the range of 1Hz to 1kHz. To mitigate the impact of micro-vibrations from the external environment or internal devices on the operational performance of precision instruments, this paper designs a 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) Stewart vibration isolation platform using a giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA). The elongation of each leg is determined through the dynamic inverse solution method. Based on the magnetomechanical coupling effect, each leg is analyzed. A pair of permanent magnets are used to provide the bias magnetic field, and their geometric parameters and installation position are analyzed. The relationship between the axial magnetic field intensity of the GMA and the thickness, outer diameter, and spacing of the permanent magnet is derived, and appropriate parameters are determined. A solenoid is used to generate the driving magnetic field, and suitable coil parameters are obtained through analysis.
