Driving Digital Payment Adoption: Addressing Key Barriers for SMEs
Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) is a non-cash payment technology that allows customers to do transactions from various providers by just scanning the QR codes. However, many SMEs still do not use QRIS in their businesses. So, this study uses the Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT) framework to identify major challenges to QRIS adoption in Bandung City and offers feasible alternatives. A purposive sample approach was used to collect responses from 120 respondents. According to the research, image, risk, and value barriers substantially impact QRIS adoption, but traditional and usage barriers are insignificant. Addressing these challenges is critical to fostering SMEs’ acceptance and integration of QRIS, thereby furthering local firms’ adoption of cashless payments. This research adds to the larger field of intelligent systems and control techniques by emphasizing the novel elements of QRIS technology.
