Active Rotor Vibration Control of Rotating Machinery when Passing Through a Critical Speed
An active rotor vibration control method for rotating machinery integrated with an electromagnetic actuator smoothly passing through a critical speed based on online stiffness scheduling is proposed. The specific principle involves intervening in the real-time mode of the rotor system by altering the polarity of the equivalent stiffness output by the electromagnetic actuator during the run-up and run-down, ultimately achieving the effect of consistently shifting the real-time mode away from the rotor frequency. The scheduling of equivalent stiffness is determined through a sine sweeping test of the rotor system using the electromagnetic actuator. Verification was conducted based on a simulation model, and sine sweeping tests and stiffness scheduling experiments were carried out on an industrial-grade centrifugal compressor. Ultimately, the avoidance of real-time critical resonance of the rotor was achieved, enabling the centrifugal compressor to smoothly pass through the critical speed.
