TRANSTORNOS ALIMENTARES NO TWITTER: Uma revisão integrativa das postagens em grupos pró-ana e pró-mia

The rise of the Internet has led to the emergence of movements such as pro-mia and pro-ana, which aim to normalize eating disorders, treating them as an acceptable lifestyle. This study aimed to summarize the results of previous research that addressed discourses conveyed in pro-ana and pro-mia groups and communities on X (formerly Twitter). An integrative literature review was conducted, following the PRISMA protocol guidelines for selection and screening of articles. Searches were conducted in Scielo, Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus search databases. Sixty-six articles were found and, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine original publications remained for the composition of this review. The results observed that the presence of content that promotes behaviors that are harmful to health, combined with the possibility of finding support and identification in online groups, can aggravate symptoms and hinder recovery. Despite this, communities that aimed at recovery were found.
