Influence of educational institutions on the development of the bioeconomy in the innovation ecosystem in the immediate region of Tabatinga-Amazonas

The bioeconomy emerges as a sustainable alternative in the face of increasing deforestation and climate change, promoting the appreciation of biodiversity and innovation. This study investigates the role of educational institutions in the innovation ecosystem of the immediate region of Tabatinga-AM, analyzing their influence on the development of the bioeconomy. Institutional Development Plans and academic initiatives of the main local institutions were evaluated. The results indicate that, despite the encouragement of entrepreneurship and innovation, the bioeconomy is not explicitly addressed in these plans. In addition, there is a lack of courses and research groups focused on the bioeconomic productive sector. It is concluded that the inclusion of the bioeconomy in academic guidelines, the creation of courses focused on this area and the strengthening of public policies are essential to consolidate a more efficient innovation ecosystem, capable of driving sustainable development in the region.
