Honorary Secretary’s Message

Dear Members, “To evolve, you must unlearn and relearn.” A significant step in this direction was the National Level Peer Reviewers Workshop, organized by the IAPHD Head Office and held on January 30, 2025, and January 31, 2025. With the enthusiastic participation of over 250 attendees, the workshop provided a platform to enhance critical skills in scientific reviewing, ensuring that research in Public Health Dentistry meets the highest standards of quality and integrity. Building on this momentum, three main areas serve as the foundation for our future objectives: Impactful teaching through lifelong learning: promoting ongoing professional development, incorporating new scientific discoveries, and cultivating an inquisitive culture that enables us to teach effectively. Strengthening preventive strategies: to encourage preventive oral health care for all societal segments, evidence-based public health programs, school-based interventions, and policy advocacy. Closing access and equity gaps: improving community programs, working with legislators, and tackling inequalities in underserved and rural areas will help ensure that oral health care is available everywhere in the nation. I also take this opportunity to invite you all to the upcoming XVI National PG Convention to be held in Chennai on June 27, 2025, and June 28, 2025, organized by the Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Dental Sciences in association with IAPHD Tamil Nadu chapter. It promises to be an excellent platform for learning and networking with an apt theme “Role of Public Health Dentists in Comprehensive Oral Health Care.” Wishing the organizing committee a resounding success in hosting this prestigious event! Long live IAPHD! Best regards Financial support and sponsorship Nil. Conflicts of interest There are no conflicts of interest.
