SEASONAL BACKUP OF POWER SUPPLY FOR CONSUMERS CONNECTED TO THE SAME ELECTRICAL GRID

For traditional methods of redundancy in the systems of external and internal power supply to consumers, it is necessary to increase the estimated capacity of backup sources, since they do not take into account the seasonality of the operation of consumer equipment (electric receivers). With targeted reservation of critical facilities (or equipment), installation of additional power transmission lines is required. At the same time, the seasonality of the schedules of the equipment and electric receivers of consumers is not taken into account. (Research Purpose) The research purpose is developing a method of seasonal redundancy of power supply to consumers connected to the same power grid. (Materials and methods) We carried out an analysis of literary sources, considered traditional ways of reserving power supply to consumers, as well as methods that take into account seasonality factors. We have established their advantages and disadvantages. (Results and discussion) Having studied the seasonality of electrical loads of rural consumers, a new method of seasonal redundancy has been proposed, which allows targeted (taking into account the seasonality of work) connecting equipment, electrical receivers connected to the same electrical grid to a backup source, and also the areas of its application have been identified. By means of this method, power is supplied to dedicated consumers at the required time when the power of the backup power source is insufficient (to reserve all consumers), as well as a decrease in the estimated power of the backup source. The options for implementing the method are illustrated by the example of reserving the power supply of the equipment of a cattle breeding enterprise. (Conclusions) As a result of the application of the proposed method, the reliability of power supply to consumers will increase, the cost of a backup source and the construction of additional power transmission lines will be reduced.
